On July 26, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo met with government counterparts in Brussels, Belgium, including European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni and Head of Cabinet of the President of the European Commission Bjoern Seibert. In these meetings, they discussed their continued support for the people and Government of Ukraine, including through economic assistance and the suspension of debt service payments. Deputy Secretary Adeyemo and his counterparts also agreed to continue discussions on a price cap on Russian oil to put downward pressure on global energy prices and restrict funding for Putin’s military. In addition, they discussed opportunities to build on the historic sanctions imposed on Russia, which have significantly weakened the Russian economy and military. These engagements follow the Deputy Secretary’s meetings with counterparts in Paris.

IOSCO Welcomes The Strong Stakeholder Engagement On Proposals For A Comprehensive Global Baseline Of Sustainability Disclosures For Capital Markets

At its recent Board meeting, the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) welcomed the strong engagement from industry, policymakers, civil society and other stakeholders on proposed standards for corporate reporting on sustainability issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). The Board discussed the ISSB’s proposals and agreed on the criteria it will use to decide whether to endorse the standards when they are finalized.

The event was aimed to implement relevant plans and requirements of CSRC, actively publicize the achievements in the reform and development of the capital market, continue to advocate the culture of rational investment, value investment and long-term investment, and strengthen the high-quality development foundation of the capital market. On July 21 and 22, SZSE jointly held the campaign at its first stop in Guizhou with CSRC Guizhou Office and the member units. A combination of onsite visits to listed companies and training on professional knowledge of the capital market, the campaign was well received by investors.

Guided by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), the Science and Technology Festival was co-sponsored by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) and the China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX). Entitled "Technology Empowers Development, Digital Leads the Future", the Science and Technology Festival focuses on hot topics such as digital transformation, fintech, autonomous & controllable, and science and technology supervision. PIMFA Welcomes Extension Of The UK Consumer Duty Implementation Timeline

PIMFA, the trade association for the wealth management, investment services and the investment and financial advice industry, has welcomed the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) decision today (27 July 2022) to agree to their recommendation and extend the period for firms to implement its new Consumer Duty by 15 months.
