On Thursday, 15 September 2022, the Quoted Companies Alliance (QCA) hosted their 30th Anniversary Dinner at The Savoy Hotel in London, bringing together over 300 members of the small and mid-cap community. The dinner began with a one-minute silence in remembrance of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Guests included representatives from quoted companies, investment funds, advisory firms, public markets and the media. -

SEC Charges Gol Intelligent Airlines, Brazil’s Second Largest Airline, With FCPA Violations

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Brazil’s second largest domestic airline, GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The São Paulo-based company, also known as Gol Intelligent Airlines, agreed to pay $70 million to settle the SEC charges.

US Department Of Justice: GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. Will Pay Over $41 Million In Resolution Of Foreign Bribery Investigations In The United States And Brazil

GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. (GOL), an airline headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, will pay more than $41 million to resolve parallel bribery investigations by criminal and civil authorities in the United States and Brazil. According to court documents, GOL entered into a three-year deferred prosecution agreement (DPA) with the Department of Justice in connection with a criminal information filed in the District of Maryland charging the company with conspiracy to violate the anti-bribery and books and records provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Today the Commission instituted and settled administrative proceedings against four investment advisers for violating the Pay-to-Play Rule. The Rule, adopted in 2010, came in response to instances where government entities, such as state and municipal pension plans, were choosing investment advisers based on their political contributions.

CFTC’s Division Of Data Announces Limited Modifications To The Technical Specification For Parts 43 And 45

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Data (DOD) today announced it has published limited modifications to Version 3.0 of the CFTC Technical Specification, issued in September 2021. The Technical Specification provides detailed instructions for swap data reporting and public dissemination requirements under Parts 43 and 45 of the CFTC’s regulations. The Technical Specification includes the definitions, formats, and allowable values for data elements that are to be reported to swap data repositories (SDRs).
