Last month at the General Assembly, the members of the International Federation of Stock Exchanges - FIBV, voted unanimously to change the name to the World Federation of Exchanges. The new web site will be www.world-exchanges.org.
CME Lauds USDA's 'Livestock Risk Protection' Program For Pork Producers, Welcomes Opportunity To Provide Risk Management

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) today praised the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) for approving the first price risk insurance program for livestock producers. Under the pilot program, pork producers will be able to purchase insurance against declines in pork prices.

The President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Mr. Kittiratt Na-Ranong announced that, as of 15 November 2001, 73% of the 352 companies listed on the SET, when submitting their financial statements for the nine months ending 30th September 2001, reported profits. In total, they posted161,866 million baht in overall net profits, which reversed net losses of 11,856 million baht in the same period last year. This represents an amazing 1,465% increase.
