Closure Of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange

The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange wishes to announce that the offices of the Exchange and its subsidiaries will be closed on Saturday, December 25, 1999 in conjunction with the Christmas Day public holiday and Saturday, January 1, 2000 in conjunction with the New Year public holiday.

The Nasdaq Stock Market® yesterday had its largest point increase ever, with preliminary figures showing the Nasdaq Composite® Index rising 127.30 points to 3911.17. The previous point-gain record was set on September 3, 1999, with the Composite Index rising 108.87 points. It was the first time the Composite Index closed above both the 3800 and 3900 marks.
