SFE Market Begins New Year Smoothly

The Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE) opened for the first time in 2000 at 8.30am this morning, Tuesday 4 January, without disruption following the New Year changeover.

Oslo Bourse Review of 1999

December 1999 was the best December since 1988. Led by IT shares, the all-share index shot up 8.9 per cent. Several European bourses rose by an even greater margin. The IT index rose by all of 35.4 per cent. But a solid rise was also recorded for a number of other sectors: 8.6 per cent for the shipping index and 9.7 per cent for the industrial index. Minneapolis Grain Exchange Breaks Annual Volume Record

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange is pleased to announce several annual volume records. Total futures and options volume for 1999 at the Minneapolis Grain Exchange hit 1,188,815 contracts, breaking last year's record. Previous record volume, set in 1998, was 1,169,533 contracts. Total options volume for 1999 increased 21 percent to 53,870 contracts. The previous options volume record was set in 1997, when a total of 47,710 contracts traded.
