  • CBOE Announces Early Closing On December 31, 1999

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) will close trading corresponding to the early closing of the underlying products on December 31, 1999. Interest rate products will stop trading at 12:00 Noon Central Time, equity options and other CBOE products that normally stop trading at 3:02 p.m. will end at 12:02 p.m. OEX, SPX, DJX and other CBOE products that normally stop at 3:15 p.m. will end trading at 12:15 p.m. Central Time.

Barclays continued to move down, this time losing P1.00 to close at P7.50 on relatively heavy volume of 210 900 shares with both local and foreign participation.   • CME's E-Mini S&P 500 Trades Over 75,000 Contracts

    For the first time, over 75,000 E-mini Standard & Poor's 500 equity index futures contracts traded during Tuesday's trading session at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). Tuesday's total E-mini S&P 500 volume of 75,270 positions was 11 percent higher than the previous record volume of 67,823 contracts traded August 10.

  • Latest HKFE Educational Article Scrutinises Put/Call Volume Ratio

    The Hong Kong Futures Exchange (HKFE) published an educational article today (September 28) that examines the put/call volume ratio and warns that investors should exercise caution when using the ratio as a trading tool. The article, "Put/Call Volume Ratio in Perspective," was written by Dr. Kin Lam, Head, Department of Finance and Decision Sciences at Hong Kong Baptist University and Kevin Cheng, the HKFE's Head of Economic Research.

  • ASX Announces Return Of Capital And Special Dividend

    Australian Stock Exchange Limited ("ASX") today (September 28) announced its intention to return $30m to shareholders. The return will implemented by a reduction in capital of approximately $20m and a special dividend of approximately $10m which will be fully franked.
