Kansas City Board Of Trade: October Trading Volume Breaks All Previous October Records

During the month of October more contracts were traded at the Kansas City Board of Trade than in any previous October. The increase in activity was generated by sharp jumps in Hard Red Winter Wheat futures and options volume. In October, 250,300 contracts were traded, compared to 196,037 contracts traded in October 1998, a 27.7 percent increase.

Eurex Already Ahead Of 1999 World Record Volume In October - About 382 Million Contracts Traded In 10 Months - 37.8 Million Contracts In October

Eurex, the European derivatives market, achieved outstanding results again in October with 37.8 million contracts traded, an increase of about 11 percent over the number traded in October last year. A total of some 382 million contracts have already been traded this year, exceeding the volume posted for all of 1999 (379 million contracts) after only 10 months and also beating the world record for turnover posted by any derivatives exchange to date.

Deutsche Börse: Record Month For Exchange Traded Funds - 408 Million Euro Turnover In October - Further Products Ready To Go

Turnover in the XTF market segment for Exchange Traded Funds, which was launched by Deutsche Börse in April, rose to a new record high in October: Trading volume in the so-called index shares came to 408 million euros, roughly 135 percent above the previous month’s figure. The future base and active portfolios of the KFX Index have now been selected. Navision will leave the KFX index and i-data international A/S and Jyske Bank A/S will join the Index. The new portfolios take effect on Monday 18 December 2000, i.e. on the first trading day following the KFX expiration date, Friday 15 December 2000.

Volume of trading on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) in October rose 23.1 percent above year-ago levels to nearly 20 million contracts, while electronically traded volume on the CME’s GLOBEX®2 system reached 4,050,332, representing a 128 percent increase over October 1999.

410 Billion Euros In Turnover On The German Stock Exchanges In October - New Xetra Record In MDAX, SDAX And Neuer Markt Stocks

A total volume of 410.5 billion euros was traded in equities, warrants and fixed-income securities on the German stock exchanges in October. This corresponds to an increase of about 22 percent over the previous year’s figure (336.75 billion euros in October 1999).
