FTSE International & NOREX Announce Launch Of New Stock Market Index
FTSE International and NOREX, the Nordic Exchanges Alliance, jointly announce today the launch of the FTSE NOREX 30 Index on 30 September 1999. This new index will track the performance of the 30 largest and most liquid Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish companies. Futures and Options based on the FTSE NOREX 30 will also start trading on the OM Exchanges in London and Stockholm from 30 September 1999 and will be made available to all members of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. CME's Live Cattle Futures Set Open Interest Record
For three consecutive sessions beginning on September 8, open interest in futures on live cattle has set new records on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), culminating with a record of 122,561 open positions on September 10.

Deutsche Börse Launches European Bond Indices BOX and EBOX New benchmark for bond trading
The new European BOX bond indices announced by the company on June 1 will be launched on September 27. The 728 indices in total track the performance of federal bonds and will be calculated for the EURO zone and the EU area. The indices for the EURO zone are called EBOX, the indices for the EU area, BOX.

Botswana Stock Exchange Market Commentary
The market took a breather and dipped 2.1% from last week's record high as sellers appeared on the market to take profits from the heady gains of the past few weeks. Barclays finally ran out of steam losing P1.00 to P9.00 on light volume as the bid on the stock weakened to P8.50.
