    The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced that a new daily volume record was set for mini-sized DowSM Jones futures with 43,416 contracts traded on March 12, breaking the previous record of 36,083 contracts set on February 14, 2003.

    CBOT® mini-sized DowSM futures set another open interest record on March 12 of 25,024 contracts, eclipsing the previous record set December 18 of 24,055 contracts. Overall, the CBOT Dow futures complex open interest rose to 60,637 contracts.

    BrokerTec Futures Exchange, L.L.C. (BTEX), the nation's only fully-electronic fixed income futures exchange, announced today that its exchange feed will now be available via Bloomberg's desktop terminals. Bloomberg's 170,000 users will now have access to streaming, real-time market data on BTEX's U.S. interest rate derivatives products - U.S Treasury Bonds (15 - 30 Year), Long-Term U.S. Treasury Notes (6 ½ - 10 Year), and Medium-Term U.S. Treasury Notes (5 Year).

  • SGX JGB Futures Break Records; Interest In MECO Futures Growing

    Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) yesterday announced that its Mini Japanese Government Bond (JGB) Futures contract traded a record volume of 54,567 contracts on 7 March 2003, surpassing its previous record of 38,860 contracts set on 5 December 2000. Its open interest also reached a record of 55,443 contracts on the same day, exceeding its previous record of 33,639 contracts on 5 Jun 2001.

  • NYSE Member Firms Report Fourth-Quarter 2002 Results

    New York Stock Exchange member firms that conduct business with the public reported fourth-quarter 2002 after-tax profits of $695 million and revenues of $35.51 billion, a 62.1 percent and 16.0 percent decline, respectively, compared to $1.8 billion in after-tax profits on revenues of $42.29 billion in fourth-quarter 2001. In 2002, the firms reported after-tax profits of $4.52 billion on revenues of $148.68 billion, compared with $6.76 billion on revenues of $194.79 billion in 2001.
