The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced yesterday that the September 2003 total trading volume of 2,576,173 contracts established a new all-time monthly volume record, eclipsing the previous record of 2,452,174 contracts set in June of 1998. Through the end of September 2003, total NYBOT year-to-date volume rose to 18,056,114 contracts, a 14% increase over the same period last year.
NASDAQ Announces Plans To Launch Official Opening Price, Enhance Current Official Closing Price

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ®) today announced plans to launch the NASDAQ Official Opening Price and enhance the current NASDAQ Official Closing Price, pending approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission. 335 Billion Euros In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In September - Double-Digit Growth In Trading Volumes - New Record In Number Of Transactions On Xetra

The aggregate turnover statistics show that a total volume of 335.1 billion euros was traded on the German stock exchanges in September 2003 - about 38 percent higher than the previous month's level (August 2003: 242 billion euros). The total comprises 270.3 billion euros in equities, warrants and exchange-traded funds as well as 64.8 billion euros in fixed-income securities. Turnover was 42 percent higher, year on year (September 2002: 236 billion euros).
