Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Thursday, July 31, 2003: Connacher Oil and Gas Limited (TSXVN:CLL) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index. The company will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange as a result of its graduation to the TSX, where it will trade under the ticker "CLL." Ravenwood Resources Inc. Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index change effective after the close of business on Friday, August 1, 2003: The relative weight of Biovail Corporation (TSX:BVF) will increase by approximately 5.21% in the S&P/TSX Capped Health Care Index. The relative weight change reflects an adjustment to the float shares pursuant to S&P/TSX Capped Sector Index methodology.

Infosys Technologies Limited (NASDAQ: INFY) announced today that the Sponsored Secondary issue of 5,218,000 American Depositary Shares (ADSs), representing 2,609,000 equity shares was priced at US$ 49.00 per ADS. Infosys is the first Indian company to convert local listed shares to ADSs.

Committee Of European Securities Regulators Sends To The European Commission Its Final Advice On Disclosure Obligations For Listed And Issuing Companies

CESR releases today its advice on draft technical measures to implement the Directive on Prospectus (Ref. CESR/03-208 and Annexes, available on the CESR website), accompanied by a Feedback Statement on the consultation (Ref. CESR/03-209). The proposed measures would need to be met when securities are offered to the public or admitted to trading and responds to a request from the European Commission for technical advice by 31 July 2003.

Stock Exchange Of Thailand Trading Of TSR To Provide More Room For Exchange Of Rights

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will begin facilitating the trade of transferable subscription rights, or TSRs, to provide an opportunity for eligible investors to sell their subscription rights if they don't wish to exercise them. The TSRs will be valid from seven days to two months and the trading fee will not be less than 0.25%, similar to trading of common shares.

SEC Announces Approval Of SRO Rules Addressing Research Analyst Conflicts Of Interest

Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman William H. Donaldson announced yesterday the approval of a series of self-regulatory organization ("SRO") research analyst rules that fulfill the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The rules approved today build on previous regulatory actions and take a number of significant additional steps towards promoting the independence and objectivity of research.
