  • December Volume: CME 2002 Trading Volume Reaches All-Time Record Of 558.4 Million Contracts, Averaging 2.2 Million A Day

    Trading volume on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) reached a record 558.4 million contracts in 2002, the highest level in the exchange's 104-year history and 36 percent higher than CME's previous record year in 2001. Volume on CME's GLOBEXÒ electronic trading platform rose 142 percent over the record set in 2001 to reach nearly 198 million contracts last year.

  • Copenhagen Stock Exchange Continued Handsome Share Trading In A Difficult Market In 2002, And High Activity On The Bond Market

    The value of share trading in 2002 came to DKK 391 billion, which corresponds to a decrease of an apparent 29 per cent compared with DKK 551 billion (adjusted to DKK 405 billion) in 2001. In 2001, the reporting rules were amended, which caused a technical drop in turnover of approx. 40 per cent.

    The CBOT® 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract for December 2002 was cash settled January 2, 2003 at a final settlement price of 98.762, for an average overnight effective rate of 1.238 percent during the delivery month.
