CBOE Announces Launch Of Futures On VIX: First Tradable Volatility Product Will Be Offered On New CBOE Futures Exchange - VIX Methodology Updated And Broadened

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that futures and options on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) will soon be available for trading. VIX futures will be the first product listed on the recently approved CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC. VIX futures and options will be based on the volatility of S&P 500 Index (SPX) options, and will be the first in a new family of volatility products to be offered by CBOE, which will include futures on S&P 500 variance. August On The Warsaw Stock Exchange

August 2003 has been the best month for investors so far this year. Increases in indices were accompanied by high turnover on both the WSE cash and derivatives markets. In August 2003, all indices went up, the small companies index - the WIRR - rose the most, by 21.6%.

UK's Financial Services Authority Warns Listed Companies On Accounting Standards

SEC Brings Enforcement Actions Against Three Individuals, Goldman Sachs, And Massachusetts Financial Services Company Related To Trading Based On Non-Public Information About The Treasury's Decision To Cease Issuance Of The 30-Year Bond

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced three related enforcement actions arising from trading in U.S. Treasury 30-year bonds minutes before the Treasury Department announced, on Oct. 31, 2001, that it would no longer issue such bonds.
