    OneChicago, LLC today announced that 103,454 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in April, a 30% increase over April 2003 volume. Open interest stood at 161,822 contracts April 30. Each single stock futures contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.

    Total trading in shares on OMHEX’s marketplaces during April amounted to EUR 60.5 billion. The average turnover per day was EUR 3,026 million, making April the best individual month of trading since February 2001 (compared with pro forma monthly figures).     The proxy statement proposes the re-election of seven directors from the current board of directors. Director D. Euan Baird has resigned from the NYSE board and will not stand for election; under the Exchange’s independence policy, Mr. Baird is no longer eligible to serve on the NYSE board following his re-election to the board of Societe Generale, which owns an NYSE member firm.
