Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Focus On Canola Futures Prices Throughout 2003

The January canola futures contract at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) closed 2003 at $364.50 per metric tonne, ending a year that saw the nearby futures contract price swing over $100.00 per tonne. Feed wheat futures contract volume rose 108.6% in December from the level recorded a year ago, with 4,231 contracts trading. Western barley trade increased by 1.9% from last December with volume reaching 10,977 futures contracts.

NASD Members Elect Four Governors to Board

NASD today conducted its Annual Meeting, during which the membership of NASD voted to elect four people to the NASD Board of Governors. Two of the individuals, William C. Alsover and Sharon P. Smith, were elected to a second term of three years.
