    As part of the integration of the Nordic and Baltic securities markets, the Helsinki Stock Exchange will introduce a new industry classification standard for listed companies, the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) as of July 1, 2005. Common Nordic and Baltic industry classification increases the international comparability of Helsinki listed companies and provides companies with a clearly defined and larger peer group.   • National Stock Exchange(SM) March Trades Increase 28 Percent From Year Earlier

    National Stock Exchange (NSX(SM)), the largest electronic stock exchange in the United States, today announced that the number of trades in March 2005 reached 34.1 million, up 28 percent from 26.7 million in March 2004. NSX averaged 1.6 million trades per day in March 2005, compared with 1.2 million trades per day in March 2004.

  • London Stock Exchange Holds International Financial Reporting Standards Presentation

    London Stock Exchange plc will tomorrow hold a technical presentation for analysts and investors, to provide an overview of the impact of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on the Exchange’s financial statements. The first full reporting under IFRS by the Exchange will be for the six months ending 30 September 2005.

  • Kaidi Oone Appointed Acting Chairman Of The Tallinn Stock Exchange

    As of today the Council of the Tallinn Stock Exchange decided to appoint Ms Kaidi Oone as new acting Chairman of the Tallinn Stock Exchange Management Board and Vice President Baltic Markets. The OMX also decided to appoint Mr. Gert Tiivas as a Member of the Council.
