Regular Revision And New Structure Of CESI (Central European Stock Index)

On 13 October 2003, a regular meeting of the CESI (Central European Stock Index) Committee took place in Ljubljana, with representatives from all the five participant Stock Exchanges (from Bratislava, Budapest, Ljubljana, Prague, and Warsaw) attending. Following the revision and the adoption of the new structure of the Index, its value will be calculated and published by the Budapest Stock Exchange as of 3 November 2003.

Record Open Interest In Minneapolis Grain Exchange Hard Winter Wheat Index (HWI) Futures And Options

Open interest in Hard Winter Wheat Index (HWI) futures and options, traded at the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) since May 9, 2003, reached a record 3,243 contracts at the end of the trading day on Friday, October 24, 2003. Open interest is the number of open positions held at the end of the day by market participants in all contract months and is a measure of a market's liquidity. Of the 3,243 HWI contracts, 1,286 were futures and 1,957 were options.

John Reed Meets With Members On Possible NYSE Governance Changes

In advance of this week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on October 28, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT® 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.
