CBOT To Expand Exchange-for-Risk ( EFR) Pilot Program
In a move designed to strengthen the exchange's competitive position by making commodity futures as useful as possible to participants in the over-the-counter (OTC) markets, the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT ), the world's largest agricultural commodity exchange, announced today that it will expand its existing Exchange-for-Risk (EFR) pilot program, currently comprised of CBOT rice and oats contracts, to include CBOT wheat contracts, effective January 2, 2003.

3.5 Trillion Euros In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In 2002
Based on preliminary figures for the year 2002, which include an estimate for the last five trading days, a total volume of some 3.5 trillion euros will be traded on the German stock exchanges (2001: 4.5 trillion euros). The total comprises about 2.6 trillion euros in equities, warrants and exchange-traded funds (2001: 3.3 trillion euros) and about 850 billion euros in fixed-income securities (2001: 1.2 trillion euros). Warsaw Exchange Announces Adjustments In WIG And WIRR indices
The Warsaw Stock Exchange announces the following quarterly adjustment changes to the WIG and WIRR SmallCap Indices: Mitex, 7Bulls, Ropczyce and Olawa will be removed from the WIG Index and Bedzin, Ponarfeh, Pekabex, Piasecki and Beefsan will be removed from the WIRR Index, because they no longer meet the criteria of participation.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Composite Index
Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces that effective after the close of business on Friday, December 20, 2002 the relative weights of the companies in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices will be adjusted. The relative weight change reflects the quarterly update to the float shares of various companies. Changes to the indices are in accordance with S&P/TSX Composite Index Maintenance Policies. Oslo Børs: Nordstjernen And Orkla Shareholdings In Elkem Consolidated
The Board of Oslo Børs has today concluded that the shares held by Nordstjernen Holding AS and Orkla ASA in Elkem ASA shall be treated as a consolidated holding for the purposes of the rules on mandatory offers. The two companies hold in total more than 40% of the share capital of Elkem ASA, and consolidation therefore triggers the duty to make an offer for the company. Orkla ASA must therefore give immediate notice either that it intends to make an offer to purchase all the remaining shares
