  • SFE Announces 2003 Full Year Result

    SFE Corporation, owner of the Sydney Futures Exchange, today released its financial results for the year ended 31 December 2003. The complete, audited, Annual Report has been released to the ASX and has been posted to SFE's website as set out at the end of this release. The highlights include: Net profit after tax (NPAT) of $38.8 million, up from $26.8 million for 2002.   • SEC Grants Extension Of Intermarket Trading System <I><i>de minimis</i></I> Exemption

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today granted an extension of the de minimis exemption from the provisions of the Intermarket Trading System Plan (ITS Plan) governing intermarket trade-throughs. The de minimis exemption was originally issued by the Commission on Aug. 28, 2002, and extended on May 30, 2003.     For the month of February 2004, total trading volume on the RTS Board increased by 64% and reached 18 million US dollars, up from 11 million dollars in January. The most popular were the Tyumen Oil Company (15% of total trading volume), Uralelectromed (14%), and Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Corporation (13%).

  • OMHEX Acquires Shares In The National Stock Exchange Of Lithuania

    OMHEX has agreed with various leading Lithuanian securities market participants and financial investors to acquire their shares in the National Stock Exchange of Lithuania (NSEL). OMHEX has today filed an application with the Lithuanian Securities Commission for permission to obtain 34 percent of the shares in the NSEL. Permission is required when acquiring more than 10 percent of the shares.
