    A regular seat sold on the New York Stock Exchange today for $3,575,000; up $70,000 from the last regular seat sale sold on Dec. 29. This brings the total number of seat sales this year to 93, more than three times the 30 seats sold in 2004.

    A second regular seat sold on the New York Stock Exchange today for $3,550,000; down $25,000 from the last regular seat sale sold earlier today. This brings the total number of seat sales this year to 94, more than three times the 30 seats sold in 2004.

  • NYSE 2005 Year-End Review: New Records In Average Daily Volume, NYSE Composite Index And Seat Prices, New Listings Outpace 2004 Level

    The New York Composite Index (NYA) ended the year at 7753.95, up 7.0% from the last day of trading in 2004, outperforming all major U.S. indexes for the second consecutive year. In 2005, the NYA reached a new high of 7814.00 on Dec. 22, an increase of 7.8%. By comparison, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) ended the year at 10717.50, down 0.6%. At their respective highs for the year, the DJIA had increased by 0.9%, and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite by 5.0% and 3.5% respectively. The Ex
