Oslo Børs Lists An Equity Fund (ETF) For The First Time

Oslo Børs is to list the equity fund DnB NOR OBX from Friday 4 March 2005. This will be the first stock exchange traded fund to be listed on Oslo Børs, and represents yet another exciting investment alternative for investors in the Norwegian market. This type of fund, known as an Exchange Traded Funds (ETF), is a popular product also for the Retail market on many international stock exchanges.
Minneapolis Grain Exchange Seeking Candidates For President/Chief Executive Officer

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) has announced it will begin accepting resumes for the position of President/Chief Executive Officer immediately. Kent Horsager, president and ceo of MGEX since June 2000, submitted his resignation to the board of directors in November 2004, with effective date of July 1, 2005. A search committee has been designated by the MGEX board of directors to fill the position.

International Securities Exchange Reports Monthly Volume For February 2005

The International Securities Exchange (ISE), the world's largest equity options exchange, today reported equity options trading volume for February 2005. Average daily trading volume in equity options contracts increased 17.6% compared to the same period in the prior year. Total equity options volume increased to 32.4 million contracts traded as compared to 27.6 million contracts traded in the same year-ago period.

DIFX has selected NSC, the electronic trading system of AtosEuronext, to trade equities, bonds, and other products. NSC, a powerful trading engine, processes several million orders per day and more than 1,000 orders per second for a given market segment and can handle a large number of instruments. CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, and the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), the preeminent stock market in the People’s Republic of China, announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create a forum for information sharing between the two organizations regarding the potential development of derivatives products in China.
