BrokerTec Futures Exchange September 11th
In remembrance of the terrorists attacks of two years ago, on September 11, 2003, BrokerTec Futures Exchange (BTEX) will close for one minute at 8:46 a.m. (New York time), the time that the first plane hit the World Trade Center, and for one minute at 10:29 a.m. (New York time), the time the second tower collapsed. During these closures, all orders will remain in the system and participants will not be able to execute, modify, delete or update any of these orders.

Borsa Italiana Monthly Key Figures - August 2003
Turnover for August was EUR 40,967.3 million. This compares to EUR 59,399.0 million in July. Domestic turnover in August was EUR 32,035.5 million, foreign turnover 7,829.2 million, Nuovo Mercato, Domestic, EUR 1,060.1 million, Nuovo Mercato, Foreign, EUR 12.3 million and on the Ristretto market EUR 30.3 million.

American Stock Exchange Commemorates September 11th
The American Stock Exchange (Amex), along with the other two major exchanges, will open for trading at 9:30 AM on September 11, 2003. In concert with the City of New York's observances, the Amex, its employees, and market participants will mark four moments of silence to pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Amex itself lost ten members on that day, and their memories will be honored individually.

NYSE To Observe Moments Of Silence In Commemoration Of 9/11 Victims
In conjunction with planned memorial activities in New York, the New York Stock Exchange will observe one-minute moments of silence at 8:46 a.m., 9:03 a.m., 9:59 a.m., and 10:29 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11. During the latter two observances, which occur during the trading session, all trading on the Exchange will cease.

UK's Financial Services Authority Chairman Outlines Regulator's Approach To Conflicts Of Interest
In his speech to the Annual Dinner of the Confederation of British Industry in Scotland Howard Davies, chairman of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), gave an update on the responses to its consultation paper CP 171 on conflicts of interest in investment research. He explained how the FSA would now take forward the proposals in the paper.
