Turnover for December was EUR 51,369.7 million. This compares to EUR 57,865.4 million in November. Domestic turnover in December was EUR 42,921.2 million, foreign turnover 4,791.0 million, Nuovo Mercato, Domestic, 3,596.3 million, Nuovo Mercato, Foreign, 15.6 million and on the Mercarto Expandi market EUR 45.6 million.

A Successful Year For The Ljubljana Stock Exchange In 2003

Once again, 2003 has been a record year for the Ljubljana Stock Exchange indices, although the total turnover will not match last year's record results. The market capitalisation increased while the number of securities traded has remained unchanged. In 2003, the Ljubljana Stock Exchange's technology was even further distributed to the various Stock Exchanges of the south-eastern Europe. USDA BSE Update - January 8, 2004

On January 6, USDA euthanized the entire bull calf herd from Sunnyside, Washington. Approximately 450 animals were euthanized according to American Veterinary Medical Association humane guidelines. USDA officials secured the animal carcasses overnight and disposed of the carcasses by landfill on January 7. None of the carcasses entered the human food supply chain or were rendered.
