NASD Sanctions First Command Broker For Fraud, Deceptive Conduct - Broker Suspended, Fined For Unsuitable Sales To Military Personnel

NASD announced today that it has imposed a 10-month suspension and a $25,000 fine against Louis E. Stough, a former broker with First Command Financial Planning Inc., in connection with a series of unsuitable recommendations and sales involving liquidation of investments in the firm's Systematic Investment Plans.

Deutsche Börse on Wednesday characterized as incorrect a report in the Financial Times that, in a Supervisory Board meeting held in mid-March, Supervisory Board chairman Rolf-E. Breuer had rejected a suggestion to offer board seats to The Children’s Investment Fund Management (TCI).

CME Weather Derivatives Establish New Records - 2005 Volume In Innovative Product Complex Surpasses 2004 - New Single Day Volume Record Established On April 11

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, announced that yesterday year-to-date trading of futures and options on futures in its weather derivative contracts already has surpassed the total volume of contracts traded in 2004. CME® Weather traded this year have reached a total of 124,177 contracts as of the close of trading yesterday, April 12, compared with 122,987 in 2004.

CME Euro FX Futures Mark New Daily Volume Record - CME Euro FX Futures Traded On CME Globex Also Hit A New Record

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange and the largest regulated marketplace for foreign exchange (FX), set a new volume record in its CME Euro FX futures yesterday of 211,929 contracts, representing a notional value of $34.3 billion. The previous record for CME Euro FX futures was 210,094 contracts set on Dec. 8, 2004. CBOT April 13, 2005 Treasury Conversion Factors

The attached conversion factor tables for the CBOT U.S. Treasury Bond and Note futures complex have been revised to include conversion factors for the following government security that was auctioned on April 13 by the U.S. Treasury Department: 1.) 4s of April 2010 (i.e., a new 5-year note). This 5-year note will be eligible for delivery into the CBOT 5-Year U.S. Treasury Note futures contract beginning with the June 2005 expiry.
