July Volume Up 14% At CBOE - Pace Of Year-To-Date Volume Remains Brisk

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that July volume totaled 28,231,303 contracts traded, an increase of 14% over the July 2003 volume of 24,727,786 contracts. Through the end of July, CBOE's year-to-date volume of nearly 209 million contracts traded is 31% ahead of 2003's pace.

Cash products 10.2 million transactions were registered on Euronext’s cash markets in July 2004, bringing the total number of transactions since the beginning of the year to 84.5 million. A daily average of 567,000 transactions were completed in the year-to-date.<

Eurex US Reports Further Growth In Trading Volume And Open Interest - Nandapurkar: Most Successful Month Since Launch Of Eurex US

Eurex US, the fully-electronic U.S. futures and options exchange, today reported its best monthly volume since the launch of the exchange in February. In the month of July, trading volume on Eurex US rose more than 1000 percent to a total of 673,180 contracts, up from 58,134 contracts in June. Daily average volume traded on the exchange in July rose to 32,056 contracts per day, up from 2,768 contracts in June. Open interest on Eurex US more than tripled in July, reaching a new record of over 58

Eurex Turns Over 75.5 Million Contracts In July - Volume Year To Date Rises To 628 Million Contracts

Approximately 75.5 million contracts were traded and cleared by the international derivatives market Eurex in July. This brings the total number of contracts traded in the first seven months of the year to 628 million contracts, an increase of approximately three percent compared to the same period last year (612 million contracts).

Eurex Eases Access For Gibraltar Trading Members - First Member Firms Connected To New Access Point

The international derivatives market Eurex eases access to its global liquidity network for member firms trading out of Gibraltar. Eurex opened its new Access Point in Gibraltar on Monday and connected its first local trading member thus increasing the number of access points to 10 globally. An Access Point is a telecommunications hub connecting Eurex members via fixed telecommunications lines to the Eurex network. Currently, eight member firms are located in Gibraltar.

Deutsche Börse: Equities Turnover In July Up 4 Percent Month-On-Month - Total Turnover Of €244 Billion On German Stock Exchanges - More Transactions On Xetra

The order book statistics, which are based on single counting of all transactions in the order book of Xetra and broker-supported trading on the floor, show that the German stock exchanges generated an equities turnover of €75.7 billion in July - up by around 4 percent month-on-month (June 2004: €72.8 billion). € 70.9 billion of this total relates to trading in German equities, with foreign equities accounting for € 4.8 billion.

CME Posts Busiest July Ever With Average Daily Volume Of 3.2 Million, Up 29 Percent Over Prior Year - GLOBEX® Handles 61 Percent Of Volume For Month, Its Highest Percentage Ever

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), the largest U.S. futures exchange, today announced its busiest July trading month ever, with volume averaging 3.2 million contracts per day, driven by continued heavy trading in CME’s benchmark Eurodollar, E-mini™ equity index and foreign exchange products. The overall volume increased 29 percent over July 2003.
