Securities Industry Association Calls For Caution In Addressing Portfolio Margining And Foreign Exchange Issues

Marc Lackritz, President of the Securities Industry Association (SIA), today testified before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs where he supported the reauthorization of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), but urged extreme caution in considering provisions in S. 1566 addressing portfolio margining that might create competitive disparities.

Nymex To Introduce Three New Natural Gas Basis Futures Contracts

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced today that it will introduce three additional natural gas basis futures contracts on its NYMEX ClearPortsm electronic trading and clearing platform beginning on September 11 for the September 12 trade date.

NYBOT Announces Sugar Options Strike Price Reporting Change

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) announced today that effective with the start of trading on Monday, September 26, 2005, amendments to its Sugar Options rules will provide for a strike price interval of 25 points up to a price level of 10 cents per pound; for a strike price interval of 50 points at a price level above 10 cents per pound and up to 15 cents per pound; and for a strike price interval of 100 points at a price above 15 cents per pound.
