New York Stock Exchange Issues Monthly Short Interest Report

The New York Stock Exchange today reported short interest as of the close of business on the settlement date of Mar. 15, 2005 reflecting transactions through Mar. 10. Based on information received from members and member organizations, short interest increased to a record 8,419,194,508 shares on Mar. 15 from 8,007,342,082 shares on Feb. 15.

Monetary Authority of Singapore Facilitates The Offer Of UCITS III Funds In Singapore

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced that it is working closely with the fund industry to facilitate the offer of UCITS (Undertakings in Collective Investments in Transferable Securities) III funds in Singapore. MAS has informed market practitioners of the requirements for the transition of existing UCITS I funds to the UCITS III regime, and has commenced the processing of such applications.

Launch Date Set For First EU ETS Futures Contracts

European Climate Exchange (ECX) and the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) today announced that the first day of trading for ECX Carbon Financial Instrument (ECX CFI) futures contracts will be 22nd April 2005. The ECX CFI futures contract, which is listed for electronic trading on the IPE, will be the first exchange-traded futures contract for the European Union’s Emissions Trading Scheme. ICEX News & Views - ICEX's New Industry Classification And Sector Indices

As of 1 April this year, ICEX will implement the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) developed by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) and Standard & Poor?s (S&P) for classifying listed companies into industries. Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/MIB index effective after the close of trading Thursday, March 24, 2005: Fastweb (Italy, ISIN: IT0001423562) shares will increase to 79,210,140 and IWF will change to 0.649. Dow Jones Indexes today announced a component change in the Dow Jones Sector Titans 30 Index. Grupo Televisa S.A. de C.V. (Mexico) will replace Fox Entertainment Group Inc. (United States) in the Dow Jones Media Titans 30 Index. Fox Entertainment Group Inc. is being deleted because of its acquisition by News Corp.
