ASX To Introduce FIX Standard To Market Data Services

The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) will introduce low-latency market data services in 2006, based on the FIX (financial information exchange) protocol. ASX has selected the CameronFIX Market Data Server platform to support these new market data services, coinciding with the migration of equities trading across to ASX’s new integrated trading system in October 2006.

Share Change For Macquarie Airports In The S&P/ASX 50 Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/ASX 50 Index effective after the close of trading Monday Feb. 28, 2006: Macquarie Airports (Australia, SEDOL: 6543628, GICS Code: 20305010), a member of the S&P/ASX 50 Index, will increase its shares to 1,642,413,182. This change is the result of a distribution reinvestment plan.

Minneapolis Grain Exchange Memberships Sold At Record Level

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) announced that on February 21st four memberships sold at an all time high of $35,000 each. The previous record high selling price was set on September 28, 2001 at $34,500. MGEX membership grants the owner trading privileges, voting rights and reduced trading fees. Membership seats are also seen as an investment opportunity. Membership values tend to fluctuate, often reflecting opportunities at the Exchange and within the industry.
