  • First Leveraged ETFs On Nasdaq-100® Launched On Euronext Paris By SGAM Alternative Investments

    A leveraged exchange-traded fund (ETF) based on the Nasdaq-100 Index® was admitted to listing on Euronext today. This is the world’s first leveraged ETF based on the Nasdaq-100 Index® and the first Nasdaq-100® ETF to be listed on Euronext Paris.

  • Deutsche Börse: Willius To Become Head Of Sales For The Cash Market

    Andreas Willius will assume responsibility for the Sales of Stock Market Business Development at Deutsche Börse with effect from 1 August. The announcement was made by Deutsche Börse on Wednesday. Willius will be reporting to Rainer Riess, Managing Director of Stock Market Business Development; the Board member responsible for this area is Andreas Preuss, who joined Deutsche Börse on 1 April and is also CEO of Eurex.

    The official launch of Deutsche Börse's new strategy index, the LevDAX®, took place on Wednesday. The index is linked to the performance of the DAX®, but boasts an additional feature - leverage. It rises and falls twice as steeply as the DAX. The LevDAX provides a simple strategy for magnifying participation in market movements. The LevDAX is designed as a basis for ETFs and structured products, as are all of Deutsche Börse's strategy indices.

  • CME Expands European-Style Foreign Exchange Options Offering

    CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange and the largest regulated marketplace for foreign exchange (FX) trading, today announced it will launch options with European-style expiration on three CME FX futures contracts, CME(R) British Pound futures, CME Canadian Dollar futures and CME Swiss Franc futures. These contracts will be available nearly 24 hours a day on the CME Globex(R) electronic trading platform and will trade side-by-side with the open outcry markets.

    In advance of this week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on June 29, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.
