Boston Options Exchange Has Busiest Week Yet

Average daily volume on BOX for this week was 515,557 contracts, the highest in BOX history. Average daily volume for the first three weeks of October is 467,179 contracts, a 37.7% increase over September and 165.2% increase over the same period in 2004.

UK's Financial Services Authority Takes Next Steps In Reforming Its Enforcement Process

New policy aimed at making the Financial Services Authority's (FSA) enforcement process more transparent and fair takes effect from today. The new policy reflects those recommendations of the FSA's Enforcement Process Review, published this summer, which required changes to the FSA Handbook. The majority of recommendations did not need to be consulted on and the FSA implemented a number immediately. A cross-FSA team is on schedule to implement the remainder of the recommendations by the year-end

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes effective after the close of business on Friday, October 21, 2005: On October 19, 2005, the results of the tender offer by TUI AG to acquire shares of CP Ships Ltd. (TSX:TEU) were announced. A total of 89.1% of the shares of CP Ships Ltd. were tendered to the offer. SEC Advisory Committee On Smaller Public Companies Plans Washington Meeting

The Securities and Exchange Commission's Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies has announced plans for a two-day meeting in Washington, D.C., on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 24 and 25, 2005. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss possible recommendations for inclusion in the Committee's final report to the Commission.
