NASD Fines Chase Investment Services, Metlife Securities $500,000 Each For Supervisory Violations In 529 College Savings Plan Sales - Firms Also Ordered To Pay More Than $660,000 To Compensate Customers

NASD announced today that it has fined Chase Investment Services Corporation of Chicago and MetLife Securities, Inc. of New York $500,000 each for failing to establish systems and procedures to supervise the sales of 529 College Savings Plans.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces October Volume - “PHLX Has Record Monthly Volume For Equity Options”

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity option volume in October increased 57.18% when 26,510,197 contracts traded compared to the same year-ago period when 16,865,958 contracts traded. Equity option volume in October increased 27.52% compared to the previous month when 20,768,135 contracts traded.

CBOE's October Volume Rises 28% To 63.3 Million - Average Daily Volume Of 2.9 Million Contracts, Total Monthly Volume In Equity Options Sets New CBOE Record

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that October trading volume totaled 63.3 million contracts, up 28% over October 2005's volume of 49.6 million contracts. Average daily volume for the month of October was 2.9 million contracts, an increase of 22% over October 2005's average daily volume of 2.4 million contracts. Through the end of October, CBOE's year-to-date total volume is 561.9 million contracts, which is 46% ahead of the 384.6 million contracts traded through the end

Comdaq Signs Contract With Nepal Stock Exchange

Following analysis of competitive bids internationally, the Nepal Stock Exchange has signed contracts for the provision of the Comdaq Computerised Trading System to replace their open outcry system. The bid process was managed by Aries Consultancy and financial support is being provided by the Asian Development Bank.
