The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity option volume in October jumped 69.20% when 16,865,958 contracts traded compared to the same period last year when 9,968,300 contracts traded. Equity option volume increased 29.68% compared to the previous month when 13,006,001 contracts traded.

NYSE Statement Regarding Motion For Injunction Against NYSE-Archipelago Merger

A small handful of Members today took steps to deny the vast majority of NYSE Members their right to vote on the merger. This action is wrong and is an affront to shareholder democracy, and is contrary to all previous statements this group has made.
