    On June 12, 2006, daily futures volume in the U.S. Dollar Index ® (USDX ®) at the New York Board of Trade â (NYBOT â ) hit the highest levels in the twenty-one year history of the Exchange’s exclusive DX market. Trading in the barometer of the U.S. Dollar totaled 28,701 futures contracts, breaking the old daily futures volume record of 27,905 set on December 7, 2005.

    Effective today, Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) will broadcast to the trading community at 3:50 p.m. EDT on each trading day the indicative calculated closing price (ICCP) for each MOC security. The ICCP for all MOC securities will be included in the MOC Imbalance Report that is made available on TSX.COM.

    TSX Group CEO Richard Nesbitt is calling on Prime Minister Stephen Harper to discuss adding securities trading to the North American Free Trade Agreement when the Prime Minister and U.S. President George W. Bush meet in Washington on July 6. Mr. Nesbitt believes the initiative needs this kind of high-profile push to kick start further discussions between regulators on both sides of the border. He made his comments during a speech to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Ottawa.

  • Strong Growth At Clearstream For May 2006

    In May the number of monthly international transactions processed rose 57 percent to 2.38 million (May 2005: 1.52 million). Of these transactions, 71 percent were Over the Counter (OTC) transactions and 29 percent were registered as stock exchange transactions. Domestic settlement transactions in Germany increased 68 percent reaching 4.00 million compared to 2.38 million for the same period last year.
