Ibovespa Sets 20th Record Of The Year By Closing May 2 At 41,016 Points

Brazilian stocks closed Tuesday 2 at record high for the 20th time this year. The benchmark Ibovespa stock index ended the session up 1.62% at 41,016 points, highest close since April 26, when it reached 40,410 points. The value traded in the session amounted to R$ 3 billion.

Daily Share Trading Hits All Time High On The Copenhagen Stock Exchange

The average number of daily share trades reached an all-time high of 21,553 in April. The previous record of 21,402 trades pr. day was set in January 2006. Share trading amounted to DKK 70.8 billion. Proceeds, listed companies raised from new issues, rose to DKK 5.6 billion in the first four months of 2006 compared to DKK 1.3 billion during the same period in 2005. In April trade in investment certificates amounted to DKK 9.8 billion, which is more than twice the amount of April 2005.

In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on May 10, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.
