  • Key Figures SWX Swiss Exchange, virt-x And Scoach Switzerland Ltd.: Year 2007 (Definitive Data)

    For 2007, the SWX Swiss Exchange, virt-x and Scoach Switzerland Ltd. recorded all-time highs in turnover and the total number of transactions. Annual turnover rose by 27.8% versus the previous year to reach an impressive CHF 2,528 billion. Particularly noteworthy was the explosion in trading activity in structured products and warrants, which grew by 57.7%. ETFs also registered a marked increase of 51.8%. For ETFs, the number of listed products rose from 61 (end of 2006) to 125 (end of 2007).

    The Oslo Børs Benchmark Index gained 11.5% in 2007, despite a second half of the year characterised by greater uncertainty and turbulent credit markets internationally. The level of trading activity was higher than ever before, with turnover up by 25% and more new listings than in any previous year. This high level of activity may well be one of the reasons for the Norwegian market continuing to climb for the fifth year in a row.
