The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that Stephanie Ann Gallitano of Jacksonville, Florida, and her Fort Lauderdale-based companies, Financial Risk International, Inc. (FRI) and Financial Risk Management, Inc. (FRM), were ordered to pay restitution of $3.1 million and a civil monetary penalty of $1,943,000 to settle CFTC charges of fraudulently soliciting customers to purchase foreign currency (forex) options. MGEX (Minneapolis Grain Exchange or Exchange) today announced results of its annual Board of Directors (Board) election, held October 2, 2008. Elected candidates include Scott A. Cordes, Country Hedging, Inc.; Scott O. Hedin, St. Croix Commodities, Inc.; Christopher T. Matzdorf, UBS Securities, LLC; and Scott D. Nagel, ADM-Benson Quinn, a division of Archer Daniels Midland. The newly elected Board members will serve two year terms, effective immediately.

CESR publishes today a Statement entitled “Fair value measurement and related disclosures of financial instruments in illiquid markets” (Ref. CESR/08-713b).
