Luxembourg Stock Exchange To Implement New Clearing And Settlement Solution

Following the partnership between the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and Euronext N.V., a subsidiary of NYSE Euronext, and the migration of its securities to the NSC® trading platform of NYSE Euronext’s European cash markets, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange has chosen to establish a Central Counterparty (CCP) model for clearing and settlement. The CCP project initiated by the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and LCH.Clearnet as CCP, includes a choice of settlement venue for clients at either Euroclear Bank

ICE Futures U.S. Establishes New Electronic Volume And Open Interest Records - Open Interest In Sugar Surpasses One Million Contracts

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of global exchanges and over-the-counter markets, announced that ICE Futures U.S.(TM) yesterday set a new daily electronic trading volume record for the second time this week. Electronic futures volume on Thursday, January 10, totaled 247,040 contracts, surpassing by 6% Tuesday's record of 234,120 contracts. ICE Sugar No. 11 futures also reached a new daily electronic volume record of 177,271 contracts.

Deutsche Börse Plans New Office Building In Eschborn - Significant Reduction In Tax Burden - New Building To Meet Highest Building Technology Requirements

Deutsche Börse is planning to move its staff, currently based in Frankfurt-Hausen, to the neighboring town of Eschborn. This was decided by the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse AG on Friday. A modern new building is to be built by summer 2010, which Deutsche Börse will then rent. As early as the second quarter of 2008, around 1000 staff are to move temporarily to an existing building in Eschborn. Clearstream’s Sees Growth For December And The Year 2007

Clearstream experienced good growth levels both in December and for the whole year 2007. In December 2.12 million international transactions were processed, a 5 percent rise over December 2006 (2.03 million). Of these transactions, 82 percent were Over the Counter (OTC) transactions and 18 percent were registered as stock exchange transactions. For the whole year, Clearstream processed 29.20 million international transactions, 19 percent more than in 2006.
