European Primary Dealers Association Announces 2008 Executive Board - Paul Spurin And Christophe Rivoire Are New Co-Chairs

The European Primary Dealers Association (EPDA), an affiliate of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), today announced its Executive Board for 2008. The new executive board will be co-chaired by Paul Spurin, head of European government bond trading at ABN Amro and Christophe Rivoire, deputy head of rates trading at HSBC.

ICE Futures U.S. Establishes New Electronic And Exchange-Wide Volume Records

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of global exchanges and over-the-counter markets, announced that ICE Futures U.S.(TM) yesterday set new daily electronic and exchange-wide trading volume records. Electronic futures volume on Wednesday, January 16, totaled 273,620 contracts, surpassing by 11% the previous record of 247,040 contracts set on January 9, 2007. ICE Sugar No. 11 futures established a new daily electronic volume record of 199,469 contracts.

Pakistan Market Returns To FTSE Watch List

Following high level consultations with Pakistan’s capital market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, FTSE Group (“FTSE”), the global index provider has deferred its decision to remove Pakistan from the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (“GEIS”) in June 2008. Pakistan will therefore remain on the FTSE Watch List for an additional six months and its status will be assessed again at the next country classification review in September 2008.
