Trading Activity On London Stock Exchange Group Up On Last Three Months

£156.9 billion (€168.5 billion) worth of equity trading was carried out across the equity order books of the London Stock Exchange Group during March. This was an increase of 32 per cent on the total value traded during February, and the highest total for a single month’s trading since October last year, though down by 38 per cent on the same month last year. The total number of trades also exceeded recent months, though at 23.4 million was down by 11 per cent on March 2008.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that on April 1, 2009, a federal court judge in Knoxville, Tennessee issued a preliminary injunction against defendant Centurion Asset Management, Inc. (Centurion) and relief defendant Advanced Trading Services, Inc. (ATS), both located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On 7 April 2009, the eighth series of Deutsche Bank AG, London, structured certificates debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange parallel market. The specifications of the certificates is the same as that of the instruments previously introduced by this issuer to the WSE but they have different maturity and different barrier determination dates. The coupon value was set at 14%.

The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is in broad agreement with the conclusions of the report requested by the Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law, Senator the Hon Nick Sherry, which reviewed changes proposed to the minimum core capital requirements of ACH’s1 clearing participants. Euroclear Bank announces its plans to launch a link with Korea Securities Depository (KSD) to offer settlement, custody and related services for Korean Treasury Bonds (KTBs) and Monetary Stabilization Bonds (MSBs). For implementation towards the end of the year, the project is part of Euroclear Bank’s commitment to serve the Asia-Pacific region’s interests internationally. The link with KSD would be the 10th Asia-Pacific central securities depository (CSD) with which Euroclear Bank has a link
