Euroclear Bank To Support Issuance Of Ireland’s First Ever Treasury Bills

Euroclear Bank will process the issuance and secondary market settlement of a new type of Irish government debt – Irish Treasury Bills (ITBs) – effective today. Acting through the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), the Irish government will offer three lines of between €400 million and €500 million each during today’s auction of these securities. Issuance of ITBs, which will initially have one, three and six month maturities, will occur through Euroclear Bank.

Oslo Børs Reduces Trading Fees

In order to encourage greater trading and liquidity for the exchange’s marketplaces, Oslo Børs announces significant reductions in the fees charged for trading in shares listed on Oslo Børs and Oslo Axess. In addition, Oslo Børs is changing its pricing model to offer a greater range of choices and to better meet the differing needs of customers.

The MICEX Group And The Mongolian Stock Exchange Sign A Memorandum Of Cooperation

On March 17, 2009, during the working visit of Mongolia’s Prime Minister Sanzhiyn Bayar to Russia, the Mongolian Stock Exchange and the MICEX signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two exchanges.

SEC Freezes Assets Of Chicago-Area Investment Adviser For Defrauding Clients

The Securities and Exchange Commission has obtained an emergency court order freezing the assets of a Chicago-area investment adviser and two of its principals who are alleged to have misappropriated more than $4 million in client assets by transferring them to third parties, and incorrectly reported the net asset and other investment values to investors.

ISE Publishes Proposal For U.S. Regulatory Reform - Recommendations Focus on Oversight of Market Operations And Trading Venues

ISE calls for creation of a new Financial Markets Commission (FMC) to oversee all U.S. financial markets and trading platforms.
