Xtrakter: Repo Trading Decreases By 22.3% In Q2 08

Euroclear Announces Senior Management Changes

Euroclear will put in place the following senior management changes over the next few weeks. Effective 1 September, Tim May, currently Chief Executive Officer of Euroclear UK & Ireland (EUI), will become Chairman of EUI, while retaining his current roles as Executive Director of Euroclear SA/NV at group level and Chairman of EMXCo. UK’s Financial Services Authority: Former Broker Banned And Fined £16,000 For Dishonesty And Using High Pressure Sales Tactics

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has banned Mr Baljit Somal (Mr Somal), a former broker at Square Mile Securities Limited, and fined him £16,000 for selling high risk shares to customers without their consent and using unacceptable sales tactics.

CESR Publishes Data On Approved And Passported Prospectuses Between July 2007 And December 2007

CESR published in June 2007 its “Report on the supervisory functioning of the Prospectus Directive and Regulation” (CESR/07-225) that included some statistical data in relation to the number of prospectus approved and passported for the periods July 2004 to June 2005 and July 2005 to June 2006 (with quarterly disclosure). On 13 June 2008, CESR published the data for the period July 2006 to June 2007 (reported on a quarterly basis).

DGCX Daily Crude Oil Volumes Achieves Record New High

Total WTI volumes on Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) reached record new highs on Tuesday 8th July trading 3,727 contracts equivalent to a value of almost $513 million. This record surpasses previous WTI highs transacted on June 19th of 3,500 contracts by 6%.
