National Stock Exchange, Inc. (NSX(R)) today announced the appointment of William K. Goodbody, Jr. as an At-Large Director on the National Stock Exchange, Inc. Board. He was also appointed to the Board of NSX Holdings, Inc., the Exchange's parent company.

CFTC Requests Public Comment On Petition From ICE Clear Europe, Ltd.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is asking for public comment on a petition by ICE Clear Europe, Ltd., a recognized Clearing House in the United Kingdom (UK), for a CFTC determination – pursuant to Section 409(b)(3) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991 – that the UK’s Financial Services Authority satisfies appropriate standards in its supervision of multilateral clearing organizations.

UK’s Financial Services Authority Fines Stockbroking Firm £77,000 For Weak Data Security Controls

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has fined Merchant Securities Group Limited (Merchant Securities) for not adequately protecting its customers from the risk of identity fraud. This is the first time the FSA has fined a stockbroking firm for weak data security controls.

CFTC Conditions Foreign Access On Adoption Of Position Limits On London Crude Oil Contract - Amended Foreign Access Relief Establishes New Standard

Today, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission) announced that Commission staff has amended the “no-action relief letter” under which ICE Futures Europe is permitted direct access to U.S. customers. The amended letter conditions direct access on ICE Futures Europe’s adoption of equivalent U.S. position limits and accountability levels on its West Texas Intermediary (WTI) crude oil contract, which is linked to the New York Mercantile Exchange crude oil contract.
