Russian Trading System Adopts FIX Protocol In Testing Stage On FORTS

A FIX Gateway is being developed for the Russian Trading System (RTS) Stock Exchange by software developer Devexperts, and has been launched in a testing stage on FORTS, the derivatives trading system of RTS Stock Exchange.

The DIRECTV Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:DTV) of El Segundo, California, will become a component of the NASDAQ-100 Index(r) (Nasdaq:NDX) and the NASDAQ-100 Equal Weighted Index (Nasdaq:NDXE) prior to market open on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. The DIRECTV Group, Inc. will replace BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BEAS).

SIFMA Supports Increasing Information Available For Auction Rate Securities

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), in a comment letter filed with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB), expressed its strong support for the MSRB’s proposal to develop a website which would display information on the results of auctions of auction rate securities.

U.S. District Court Orders Two New York Residents And A New York Firm To Pay More Than $11 Million For Their Roles In Defrauding Investors In Foreign Currency (Forex) Schemes

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it obtained default judgment orders requiring Maxim Yampolsky of New York, New York, Frank Schiavone of Howard Beach, New York, and First Lexington Group, LLC, a New York company, to pay more than $11 million in civil monetary penalties, disgorgement, and restitution due to their roles in defrauding investors in illegal foreign currency (forex) schemes.

NYSE Arca, a subsidiary of NYSE Euronext (NYX), today announced new transaction pricing, effective May 1, 2008, that will feature rebates for non-displayed orders and a new “post/take” rate combination for active customers in NYSE-listed (Tape A) securities. These changes follow recent price changes on April 1, 2008 , when NYSE Arca introduced highly competitive fees for active traders in NASDAQ-listed (Tape C) securities as well as better rates in NYSE-listed securities and on NYSE Arca Options
