The Spanish Stock Exchange Trades €1.2 Billion In Eleven Months - The Number Of Trades Grows By 8.6% Up To November

Trading volume on the Spanish stock exchange in November came in at €73.16 bn. ETF trading in the first eleven months was up 55.6% from the same period in 2007. The Derivatives Market traded 6.4 million contracts in November, up 45% from the same month a year earlier. It is worth mentioning the trading in Stocks Futures, up 121% from a year earlier, at 3.2 million contracts and IBEX 35 Options, at 551,041 contracts, up 61% from a year earlier. Trading Volume

Deutsche Börse Launches Longevity Indices - Standardized Xpect Indices Published For Securitization Of Life And Pension Insurance Risks - Individual Index Calculation Service Offered

Deutsche Börse has further expanded its index offering, adding Xpect, an innovative index family for longevity data from 1 December. Longevity indices serve for the valuation of longevity risk and they also serve as a basis for financial instruments, e.g. for the securitization of life and pension insurance risks. Insurance companies and pension funds will thus increase their capital efficiency and lower their required risk capital.

FSA Statement: London Scottish Bank Plc.

On 30 November, the FSA determined that London Scottish Bank plc should be prevented from accepting further deposits as it no longer met the FSA’s threshold conditions for authorisation. It was placed into administration later that evening by the Court on the application of its directors. Ernst and Young has been appointed as administrator.

Fund Trading On Frankfurt Stock Exchange Faster And Cheaper With Xetra - Development Of A Pan-European Distribution Channel For Actively Managed Mutual Funds

As of today, fund trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange operates with Xetra technology; Xetra is Deutsche Börse’s fully electronic pan-European trading system. Fund trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange now combines the advantages of floor trading with the faster and cheaper trading via Xetra. Higher liquidity, narrower spreads and elimination of the 0.08-percent broker commission mean that fund trading is now even more attractive for participants and investors.
