BRICS Exchanges To Cross-List Benchmark Equity Index Derivatives

The five founding members of the BRICS Exchanges Alliance (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) will begin cross-listing benchmark equity index derivatives on each other’s trading platforms on 30 March (Friday). The move was announced today (Tuesday) at the Futures Industry Association’s 37 th International Futures Industry Conference in Boca Raton, Florida.

CFTC Charges Arjent Capital Markets LLC, Chicago Trading Managers LLC, Spencer Montgomery, And Brian Reynolds With Commodity Pool Fraud

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today filed an enforcement action charging Colorado-based defendants Arjent Capital Markets LLC (Arjent), Chicago Trading Managers LLC (CT Managers), Spencer Montgomery, and Brian Reynolds with defrauding commodity pool investors by knowingly or recklessly issuing false account statements for three separate commodity pools.

SGX And Eurex Team Up To Enhance Market Access

Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Eurex today announced a partnership to deliver convenient market access and cost efficiencies to members of both exchanges. Both companies plan to link their co-location data centers to provide market participants easy connectivity to each other’s markets in Singapore and Frankfurt/Main respectively.

CFTC Orders Goldman Sachs Execution & Clearing, L.P., A Registered Futures Commission Merchant, To Pay $7 Million For Supervision Failures In Handling Accounts It Carried

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that Goldman Sachs Execution & Clearing, L.P. (GSEC), a registered futures commission merchant based in New York, N.Y., agreed to pay a $5.5 million civil monetary penalty and $1.5 million in disgorgement to settle CFTC charges that it failed to diligently supervise accounts that it carried from about May 2007 to December 2009. The CFTC order also requires GSEC to cease and desist from violating CFTC regulations requiring diligent supervision. Additionally, the order states that GSEC represented in its settlement offer that it has made changes in light of the events discussed in the order, including implementing enhanced supervision policies, procedures, and training.

S&P Indices Taps SGX Futures Prices For New S&P CNX Nifty Futures Real-Time Index

S&P Indices today launched the S&P CNX Nifty Futures Real-time Index, a measure of the returns on offshore exposure to the Indian equity market based on Singapore Exchange (SGX)-listed S&P CNX Nifty Index futures prices.

International Securities Exchange Announces OptimiseTM Roundtrip Latency Of 250 Microseconds - New Web Page Provides Ongoing Latency Transparency

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced that current median latency for its Optimise™ trading system equals 250 microseconds. This represents a reduction of approximately 39% since the completion of the Optimise rollout in August 2011. Significantly, ISE has reduced the latency tail so that 90% of all quotes submitted to the system are acknowledged within 340 microseconds, representing a 45% reduction in the past six months.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged the senior-most executives at formerly one of the nation’s largest mortgage companies with hiding the company’s deteriorating financial condition at the onset of the financial crisis. The plan backfired and the company lost 90 percent of its value in two weeks.

SGX Welcomes NYSE Technologies Network To SGX Data Centre

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today announced NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology division of NYSE Euronext, is extending its Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure (SFTI) network to the SGX data centre in Singapore.

CFTC Orders Chicago Futures Commission Merchant Fcstone, LLC And New York Introducing Broker Commodity Operations Inc. To Pay $260,000 For Supervision Violations

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced the filing and simultaneous settlement of charges against FCStone, LLC, a Chicago-based registered futures commission merchant, and Commodity Operations Inc., formerly a registered introducing broker in New York, for failing to diligently supervise the account of a floor broker. The CFTC order requires FCStone and Commodity Operations jointly and severally to pay a $260,000 civil monetary penalty and to cease and desist from violating CFTC regulations governing diligent supervision.
