Good Afternoon. I would like to welcome everyone to the third meeting of the CFTC’s Technology Advisory Committee. As you know, this meeting was originally scheduled for January 27th. However, on the morning of the 26th, Washington was in the crosshairs of a winter storm. I realized that while many of you could probably get here, the odds of getting out, even just a few hours later, would be slim if we got any kind of accumulation. So, in the interest of everyone’s busy schedules, not to mention your safety, I cancelled the meeting.

Federal Reserve Seeks Comment On Proposed Rules On Risk-Based Pricing Notices And Adverse Action Notices

The Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on Tuesday proposed regulations regarding the credit score disclosure requirements of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The statute requires creditors to disclose credit scores and related information to consumers in risk-based pricing and adverse action notices under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) if a credit score was used in setting the credit terms or taking adverse action.

Good afternoon. Thank you Commissioner O’Malia for chairing today’s meeting of the Technology Advisory Committee. I also thank Commissioner O’Malia and my fellow Commissioners, as well as the dedicated staff of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for their hard work to implement the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Options Clearing Corporation Announces Total Contract Volume In February Increased 35%

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) announced today that total OCC cleared volume in February reached 357,275,834 contracts. This represents a 35 percent increase over the February 2010 volume of 264,435,951 contracts. OCC year-to-date total contract volume is up 28 percent from 2010 with 738,833,911 contracts.

Boerse Stuttgart marked its 150th anniversary on this date with a celebration at the Liederhalle Culture and Convention Centre in Stuttgart. Addressing the around 500 guests in his opening speech, Christoph Lammersdorf, CEO of Boerse Stuttgart Holding GmbH, laid out Boerse Stuttgart’s strategic ambitions: to build further on its existing position as Germany’s biggest exchange for retail investors and as Europe’s leading specialist stock exchange for securitised derivatives. The event was attended by prominent figures from business and politics, and the list of speakers included Wolfgang Schäuble, the Federal Minister of Finance, and Ernst Pfister, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg.

CME Group Announced Launch Of 17 New Crude Oil, Fuel Oil And Gasoil Contracts

CME Group, the world’s leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, yesterday announced the introduction of 17 new crude oil, fuel oil and gasoil futures contracts. The contracts, which were listed for trading effective February 28, 2011, will be traded on the NYMEX floor and available for clearing services through CMEClearPort.
