  • EBA Launches Discussion On The Impact On The Volatility Of Own Funds Of The Accounting And Prudential Changes In The Treatment Of Defined Benefit Pension Plans

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a discussion paper on the impact on the volatility of own funds of the revised International Accounting Standard for employee benefits (IAS 19) and the deduction of defined benefit pension assets from own funds in accordance with the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) . The input gathered from this discussion paper will assist or inform the EBA in the preparation of its report to the European Commission on this topic. The consultation runs until 14 April 2014.

  • BM&FBOVESPA Trading Hours – BM&F Segment

    Due to the end of daylight saving time in Brazil on February 15, 2014 and the start of daylight saving time in the U.S. on March 08, 2014, there will be new trading hours for the following commodity contracts:

    • Futures and option contracts and structured transactions on Arabica coffee;
    • Cash-settled futures and option contracts and structured transactions on crystal sugar;
    • Cash-settled futures and option contracts on soybeans; and
    • Cash-settled soybean futures contract at the price of the CME Group mini-sized soybean futures contract.

  • Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Inks MOU With New York Institute Of Technology

    Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) signed today an agreement facilitating mutual cooperation in the fields of research, institutional development, and training.  The agreement was signed at a formal ceremony held at the ADX main offices in Abu Dhabi.

    The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has today been approved to issue letters of credit for trading on DME directly from Singapore. The approval reflects DME and RBS’s joint commitment to facilitate the trading activities of their mutual customers in Asia.

It does this by providing responses to questions posed by the general public and competent authorities in relation to the practical application of the AIFMD.
