Bloomberg LP and UBS today announced a strategic partnership that will result in Bloomberg Indexes being responsible for governance, calculation, distribution and licensing of the bank's market leading commodity indexes. The indexes will be renamed from the "Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index Family" to the "Bloomberg Commodity Index Family" as of July 1.

HKEx Welcomes The Central Government's Support To The Establishment Of Mutual Market Access Between Hong Kong And Shanghai

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) noted remarks by Li Keqiang, the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, today at the Boao Forum expressing support to the establishment of mutual market access between the stock markets of Shanghai and Hong Kong.  HKEx further noticed in the joint announcements by the Mainland and Hong Kong stock market regulators that approval in principle was granted to the programme.

Progress On Gender Diversity Continues - ASX Corporate Governance Principles And Recommendations On Diversity

ASX today released an independent report measuring the adoption of the Corporate Governance Council’s gender diversity recommendations by listed entities. In the second full year of reporting on diversity, the research found that the benefits of diversity are now well recognised and articulated by listed entities. However, an entity’s size is the primary predictor of whether it will take the next step of setting and monitoring measurable objectives or targets for female participation in leadership roles.

In the more than five years that I have been a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, it has been hard not to concentrate on near-term economic prospects. The severe decline in the economy precipitated by the financial crisis and the magnitude of job and production loss in the Great Recession that followed have made a focus on recovery both understandable and imperative. But as I have prepared for Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meetings every six to seven weeks by examining incoming data and the analyses of our own staff and of outside economists, I have been struck by the evidence of longer-term challenges to the American economy that poke through shorter-term discussions.
