EEX: First Trade Registered In Spanish Power Options

Yesterday, EEX has registered the first trade in Spanish Power Options. On 5 January 2015, 25 contracts for delivery in the second quarter of 2016 were registered for clearing, totaling 54,600 MWh. EEX offers European type options on monthly, quarterly and annual contracts (base-load) for the market areas Germany/Austria, France, Italy and Spain.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Division of Market Oversight announced today that it has approved FTSEF LLC’s (FTSEF) application for temporary registration as a swap execution facility. FTSEF is a limited liability company based in New York; and it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of FlexTrade Systems Inc., a corporation also based in New York.
