Finansinspektionen Would Like The Financial Market To Shift Its Sustainability Work Into The Next Gear

There is a lot of work left to do before the financial market fully contributes to a sustainable economy. For example, firms need to be better at identifying and integrating sustainability risks. One condition for this is that they have the right competence in sustainability-related matters. Firms also are responsible for preventing their operations from being used for criminal purposes. These are several of the conclusions we draw in our sustainability report that is being published today.

Good morning. Thank you to everyone who has joined this meeting, both in person here in Washington, D.C., and virtually, and thank you to my fellow Commissioners. I want to thank the CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) leadership team—Amy Hong, Darcy Bradbury, Brad Tully, Michael Winnike, Allison Lurton, Tara Kruse, Caroline Butler, and Sandy Kaul—for your continued hard work and commitment to tackling some of the biggest challenges facing global markets, particularly in light of macroeconomic factors, geopolitical dynamics, and the changing world around us. I especially want to recognize the members of the GMAC’s Subcommittees and the workstream leads who contributed substantial time and resources to developing the recommendations that we will hear today.

UK Financial Conduct Authority Discontinues Civil Proceedings Against Konstantinos Papadimitrakopoulos And Dimitris Gryparis

The FCA previously commenced High Court proceedings pursuant to sections 383 and 382 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 against the former CEO, Mr Konstantinos Papadimitrakopoulos, and former CFO, Mr Dimitris Gryparis of Globo plc for alleged market abuse.

Stephan Leithner To Become New Chief Executive Officer Of Deutsche Börse AG - Appointment As Of 1 October - Co-CEO With Theodor Weimer Until End Of 2024

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG today appointed Stephan Leithner as the company's new Chief Executive Officer. The 57-year-old will take up his new position on 1 October 2024 and initially lead Deutsche Börse as a Co-CEO together with Theodor Weimer until the end of the year. Theodor Weimer will then be 65 and resign from the Executive Board. His contract expires at the end of 2024.

The Federal Reserve Board on Friday announced a final rule that updates risk management requirements for certain systemically important financial market utilities (FMUs) supervised by the Board. FMUs provide essential infrastructure to clear and settle payments and other financial transactions to allow financial markets and the broader economy to function effectively.

London Stock Exchange Group: Completion Of Off-Market Purchase

Further to its announcement on 6 March 2024, London Stock Exchange Group plc ("LSEG" or the "Company") today announces that it has completed the off-market purchase of 162,651 voting ordinary shares and 5,444,527 limited-voting ordinary shares of 679/86 pence each of the Company (the "Off-Market Purchase") in aggregate from York Holdings II Limited ("York Holdings II") and York Holdings III Limited ("York Holdings III") (entities owned by BCP York Holdings (Delaware) L.P. ("BCP York") (an entity owned by a consortium of certain investment funds affiliated with Blackstone Inc. and including an affiliate of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, an affiliate of GIC Special Investments Pte. Ltd. and certain other co-investors), Thomson Reuters and certain other minority holders) (BCP York, York Holdings II and York Holdings III together, the "Consortium"). The ordinary voting shares purchased by the Company will be held in treasury and the limited-voting ordinary shares will be cancelled.
